Waupaca Weekend

This weekend was our long-anticipated Waupaca weekend. We planned on bicycling there, but there was snow falling so we didn't even bother bringing the bikes. We committed to the B&B so Forward we went to Wisconsin.

Dropped of the dogs at our daughter's house. Evidently Bob was not really happy when we dropped him off on Friday morning. He immediately took a shit in the house, so I cleaned it up and then we left. About 10 minutes later our daughter sends me a text message that read... Bob took a shit again right after you left. He must be angry with you guys. Must be indeed.

Friday night we had dinner at TW Martin's in Waupaca. Kay's brother Greg met us there and it was nice to catch up.

Saturday we awoke to about 3 or 4 inches of snow. I felt vindicated in making a decision not to bring the bikes. We went for a hike at Schmeekle Reserve in Stevens Point in the new snow. We discovered the Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame (WCHF), upon stumbling on the visitors center. It was a good tour and we both learned a bit about Wisconsin's history and the environment. After that we toured the house that Greg is fixing up with the intention of flipping. We discovered a farm auction on the way, probably 100 trucks with trailers ready to score one of the tractors shown in the photo above.

Saturday night it was back to TW Martin's for dinner. We met the nephew Alex (pictured with me below) and his Dad Pat. TW Martin's in the absolute shit, no need to eat dinner anywhere else in Waupaca. The only exception that I am aware of is where we stayed, the Green Fountain Inn, which serves lunch on weekdays and dinner on Friday nights.

Sunday we rolled out of town early so we could get Bob and Rex from Jess's place and then take a bicycle ride.
